President Trump threatens to destroy a bridge or power plant every time Iran strikes a ship in the Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump stated this Wednesday that the US will “bomb and destroy a bridge or power plant” every time Iran targets a ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

“From this point on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran fires on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether with a missile, drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those near or inside the capital of Tehran,” Trump wrote.

The American president has previously threatened to target Iranian civilian infrastructure — which could be considered a war crime — including in an interview with Fox News last week when he said the US would “destroy all of Iran’s bridges if they do not sit at the negotiating table and talk.”

The Trump administration carried out the 11th night of airstrikes against Iran, expanding the scope of its air attacks to the west and south of the country, according to Iranian state media.

Iran has accused the US of using Mount Kazm as a pretext for further attacks, after President Donald Trump threatened to strike the suspected underground nuclear plant.

“Washington’s obsessive focus on Kolang Kouh (Mount Kazm), where no nuclear activity is taking place, is nothing but a fabricated pretext for aggression, destruction, and sabotage,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.

Mount Kazma is a heavily fortified underground structure located in the center of the country, about a mile south of the Natanz uranium enrichment plant, previously bombed by the US and Israel, making it a difficult target for any potential ground operation.
