The judicial panel, under the direction of judge Alban Ajvazi, approved the measure on July 23, 2026, after reviewing the request submitted by the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, namely its Department for Serious Crimes, during a hearing session.
Based on the ruling obtained by the media, Krasniqi faces suspicions of exercising unlawful influence in a continuous manner and in cooperation with others, in addition to charges of document forgery and misuse of official authority.
The indictment against him was filed in 2021 by the Basic Prosecution of Prishtina, charging him precisely with these criminal offenses.
The detention period will be in effect from July 23 to August 23, 2026, and the court clarified that even in the event of an appeal, the decision will be enforced without interruption.
