Powerful storm hits Saranda, three injured and extensive damage reported

A powerful storm swept through the coastal city of Saranda in just a few minutes, leaving behind material damage and sending three people to the hospital.

Just five minutes of torrential rain and strong wind were enough to uproot entire trees, which blocked several roadways and hindered movement.

The devastating wind also struck the facades of establishments along the promenade, causing various damages.

One of the most alarming incidents occurred on the street near the city stadium, where a falling pine tree damaged three parked cars.

Meanwhile, medical emergency services report that three citizens were injured by shards of broken glass during the fury of the weather. They received appropriate treatment at the hospital and later returned home.

Footage from the scene shows the aftermath of the storm in several parts of Saranda. Municipal service crews immediately went out to the field to inspect damages and intervene in affected areas.
