The EU ambassador to Tirana, Sofia Moreira se la Sousa, highlighted the European integration process of Albania and the Western Balkan countries, saying that the European perspective must be accompanied by lasting reforms and tangible results for citizens.

“A European future for the Western Balkans means a region where economies are more interconnected, young people see their future in their own countries, and political differences are addressed through dialogue. The progress made so far is important, but the work still to be done is even more important.

The ambition to conclude negotiations by 2027 is demanding. It requires political commitment, further sustainable reforms and the effective implementation of all chapters.

The EU is your main supporter, but the credibility and reliability of this ambition will depend on results.

The message is clear: continue the work you are doing and stay focused on results for citizens.

Albania’s European journey has changed the country. The task ahead is to ensure that this transformation continues and that citizens feel the benefits of the reforms.
