Police operation in northern Mitrovica, conference on weapons and investigations in Zubin Potok to be held today

The Kosovo Police will make public today information about a major operation carried out at several locations in northern Mitrovica. During the operation, a considerable quantity of weapons, ammunition, uniforms and other relevant evidence was discovered and confiscated.

To inform the public about the case, an extraordinary press conference has been announced. It will be held on August 20, starting at 16:00, at the “Enver Zymeri” Special Units Center in Mitrovica.

According to the Kosovo Police announcement, on 20.08.2026, at 16:00, details will be presented about the operations carried out in several parts of northern Mitrovica, where weapons, ammunition, uniforms and other relevant evidence were found and confiscated. The seized materials will be displayed to the media.

During the conference, information is also expected to be provided about police actions related to the case of War Crimes against the Civilian Population in Kosovo. Investigations into this case are underway at several suspected locations in Zubin Potok.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Sveçla, and the Director General of the Kosovo Police, Colonel Hoxha, will attend the conference, the announcement said.
