State Police services rescued two Dutch tourists who had become stranded near Pëllumbas Cave, in the village of Pëllumbas, Tirana.
The official statement says the intervention began after it was reported that one of the tourists had suffered a leg injury after a fall, making it impossible for her to move in that difficult terrain.

Immediately after the alert, officers from Police Commissariat No. 1, together with the Alpine Police of the National Security Force, Tirana Unit, organized a search-and-rescue operation and managed to locate the two tourists, bringing them to safety.
The injured tourist received first aid from the Police and was then taken, in cooperation with the ambulance team, to the Trauma Hospital for medical treatment. The other tourist was escorted to a safe area.
According to the State Police, the two citizens from the Netherlands expressed gratitude to the officers and supporting structures for the quick response, professionalism, and assistance provided during the operation.
The State Police have called on citizens and tourists to call the toll-free number 112 in any emergency.
