Person found dead on highway as police search for driver

A man, whose age has not yet been determined, was found dead today beside a highway. He is suspected of having been hit by a vehicle whose driver immediately fled the scene.

The victim died at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision. Police examined the area, while authorities are working to identify the deceased and locate the vehicle and the driver involved in the accident.

The incident was also announced by Interior Minister Pançe Toshkovski during an interview with Kanal 5 television.

“Today we have such a case. A man was run over and found dead on the highway at the scene,” Toshkovski said.

Investigators are trying to establish all the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and identify the driver who fled after the collision.

Further information is expected to be made public after the inspection and investigative actions are completed.
