Peja court orders one month in pre-trial detention for suspect in aggravated murder

The Basic Court in Peja, specifically its Serious Crimes Department, has ordered that B.Z. remain in pre-trial detention for one month, as there is grounded suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of “aggravated murder” and “attempted aggravated murder.”

The decision was issued by preliminary proceedings judge Armend Lokaj, following consideration of the request submitted by the Basic Prosecution in Peja – Serious Crimes Department.

According to the ruling, the detention measure will be enforced from September 6 until October 6, 2026, while B.Z. will be held at a healthcare institution.

The imposition of this measure was carried out in accordance with the provisions of Kosovo’s Criminal Procedure Code governing pre-trial detention.
