Peci in Kalludra: Kosovo Continues to Bear Open Wounds and Await Justice

The Mayor of Mitrovica, Faton Peci, has raised concerns about the consequences of the war, particularly the issue of missing persons and the lack of justice for the crimes committed.

According to him, more than two decades after the war ended, the families of those who disappeared continue to endure pain, a long wait and the hope of learning the fate of their relatives.

Peci said that Mitrovica is among the cities that paid the highest price for Kosovo’s freedom. He also recalled the Albanian presence and history in the north, referring to the Albanian cemeteries in these lands.

From Kalludra in Zubin Potok, he conveyed the message that the wounds of the war remain open, while Serbia, which he described as genocidal, has not even apologized.

Peci stressed that the truth and the traces of the crimes cannot be erased, while the families of missing persons, after nearly three decades of suffering, waiting, pain and searching, continue to hope that one day they will be able to lay flowers on the graves of their loved ones.

He emphasized that pain requires healing, while crimes demand justice.
