PDK leaves the Assembly session, only Rrustem Mustafa remains in the hall

Deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosovo have left the plenary session of the Kosovo Assembly, following a debate between deputy Arian Tahiri and the Assembly chairperson, Albulena Haxhiu.

Meanwhile, only PDK deputy Rrustem Mustafa – Remi remained in the hall.

The debate began after Arian Tahiri submitted a procedural motion to deviate from the set deadlines. He proposed that the amendments to the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office be sent to the Functional Committee on Legislation by 14:30.

Tahiri also requested that the changes to the Law on the Specialist Chambers be put to a vote today, at 17:30.

Following this proposal, Assembly chairperson Albulena Haxhiu responded.

“After the meeting between the chairs we can come to an agreement on the matter in question. I don’t understand how it is possible that after only a few hours you come and change your position. It is very important that we stand together and give the country a President. Therefore I invite you to meet, come to an understanding, and return to the session. We cannot take the country to elections because of the President”, Haxhiu declared.
