Two candidates were competing for the position, both of whom met the criteria and had received the approval of the Committee on Elections and Appointments. The process for selecting the Judicial Council member is expected to be held again in the near future.

During the day, Parliament continued its remaining work from several sessions. At the 122nd plenary session, several bills were approved, most of them related to harmonization with the Law on Senior Managers. Meanwhile, the proposal for the chair and members of the “Mother Teresa” Award was also removed from the agenda.

Under an expedited procedure, lawmakers approved amendments to the Law on Representing the Republic of Macedonia before the European Court of Human Rights, the Law on Communal Activities, the Law on Construction, the Law on Road Transport, the Law on Sanitary and Health Inspection, and the Law on Restrictive Measures.

Afrim Gashi also announced that the proposer had withdrawn the Draft Financial Plan of the Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water Services and Municipal Waste Management Services of the Republic of North Macedonia for 2026. The Draft Decision on Determining the Percentage of the Distribution of Total Annual Revenues for Financing the Operations of the Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water Services and Municipal Waste Management Services of the Republic of North Macedonia for 2026 was also withdrawn from the agenda of the 73rd session.

Parliamentary proceedings then continued with the 100th plenary session, which focused on the debate over the Annual Report on the Work of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption for 2025. The agenda for this session also included the special reports of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption concerning the conditions set for financing the election campaign for the election of mayors and councilors in the municipalities of the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as the report on financing the election campaign for the repeat elections for the mayor of the Municipality of Gostivar, the mayor of the Municipality of Vrapçisht, the mayor of the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuša, and the mayor of the Municipality of Centar Župa in 2026.
