Osmani: The judicial system took no measures against judges after Arlinda Zekaj’s letter

Former President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has reacted to the publication of another letter from Arlinda Zekaj, addressed to a judge, requesting the issuance of a protection order.

In a post, Osmani published part of the letter and stated that the justice institutions had failed to protect Zekaj.

She focused attention on the phrase used in the letter: “For you it is routine, for me it is life.”

“This sentence, written by Arlinda Zekaj while seeking help, constitutes a serious indictment of a system whose duty was to protect her, but which failed to hear her in time,” Osmani wrote.

She emphasized that no woman or mother should be forced to beg for the right to live.

“She should not have to plead for the safety of her children. Above all, she should not have to live in fear that the institutions will react only when it is too late. So far, ZERO measures have been taken by the judicial system against judges who have demonstrated negligence,” Osmani wrote.
