Noise inspections in Shkoder, venue owner fined 200,000 lekë

Inspections to ensure compliance with permitted noise levels have continued in Shkoder, where the owner of a venue in the “Vasil Shanto” neighborhood was fined 200,000 lekë.

During measurements conducted last night, music at the establishment managed by M. L., 38, was found to reach a level of 86.3 dB.

Officers from the Shkoder Police Commissariat are carrying out inspections at establishments that organize activities with music, as part of measures to maintain public order and safety.

A verification in the “Vasil Shanto” neighborhood found that one venue was broadcasting music above the prescribed limit. For the violation identified, and pursuant to the law “On the Assessment and Management of Environmental Noise,” the owner, M. L., 38, a resident of Shkoder, was issued an administrative fine of 200,000 new lekë.

Police said that inspections, verifications and measurements at the relevant establishments will continue.

Owners and administrators of venues that hold activities with music are urged to comply with legal requirements regarding operating hours and the level of noise generated.

Citizens are invited to report any concern or violation of the law to the police, while the authorities guarantee an immediate response and handling in accordance with the legislation.
