New Details on the Death of Mango Founder / Witness: Therapy Involved an Extreme Mountain Challenge Between Father and Son

The investigation into the tragic death of Isak Antic, the businessman who founded the Mango brand, has brought new revelations. He suffered a fatal accident on December 14, 2024, while walking on the rugged terrain of Montserrat Mountain, near Barcelona.

In recent statements included in the prosecution file, a translator of British origin, who occasionally assisted the family therapist, has revealed that the mountain walk was part of a guided session. The objective was to expose father and son to an extreme test.

According to the daily El Pais, this new version of events puts Jonathan Antic, the entrepreneur’s son and successor, in a more vulnerable position; he is at the center of the investigation due to the circumstances of his father’s death.

Speaking to officers, the witness said she was tasked by therapist Julia Lunderwald with finding the mountain path where the meeting would take place. She confirmed that the chosen spot was the Camí de les Feixades route and that a week before the tragic incident, she had accompanied Jonathan Antic to that area to familiarize him with the terrain, in preparation for returning later with his father.

Earlier, investigators had gathered technological evidence from license plate recognition cameras and geolocation signals, which showed that he had inspected the same section at least twice in the days before the tragedy.

According to her account, the therapist’s instruction was for the pair to experience a moment of high emotional tension as part of the healing method. The witness added that part of the scenario was for Jonathan Antic to position himself ‘on the edge of a precipice,’ simulating an experience in borderline conditions.

She explained that the reason she came forward to the authorities was fear that her movements at that location a few days before the event could be seen as suspicious. She made this decision after being informed that the justice system was examining the possibility of other individuals being implicated in the case.

To support her claims, she handed over to investigators a series of messages and voice recordings exchanged with Julia Lunderwald, relating to the planning of the walk. The entirety of these materials is now officially part of the investigative file.
