New details in the investigation into Tyler Robinson over the murder of Charlie Kirk: “He asked me for a carving tool”

During the court hearing for Tyler Robinson, suspected of murdering Charlie Kirk, the courtroom was shown a previously recorded interview with his roommate, Lance Twiggs, who provided new information about Robinson’s behavior before the incident.

Twiggs’ interview was presented by Brian Davis, an agent with the Utah State Bureau of Investigation. In the first part of the video, Twiggs explained that he and Robinson had lived in the same apartment, each in his own room.

He said Robinson had asked to borrow a Dremel-type power tool. According to Twiggs, Robinson had been talking for months about a “hunting trip” he intended to take with his family.

“He told me he was planning to go hunting with his family. For several months, he kept talking constantly about that hunting and camping trip,” Twiggs is heard saying in the recorded interview.

At the same time, Judge Graf ruled that several text messages sent by Tyler Robinson, as well as a handwritten note that prosecutors attribute to him, be admitted as evidence and presented in court.

The defense objected to the presentation of these materials, arguing that they could influence the potential jury if the case goes to trial. Despite this, the judge allowed them to be used as evidence, requiring only that identifying information, including phone numbers, be removed.

During the hearing, there were also several short breaks to review the video evidence.

In the courtroom, Tyler Robinson was seen wearing a gray suit and white shirt, seated next to his lawyers as he followed the proceedings.

Jeffrey Neiman, the lawyer representing Erika Kirk and her family, also addressed the hearing. He requested that the evidence be shown in the courtroom, even if it was not broadcast live.

“The Kirk family has waited 10 months for this hearing. They have the right to be here, to hear the evidence, and to see what is happening in court,” Neiman said.

The court proceedings are expected to continue with the presentation of additional evidence and testimony, while the court will decide the next steps in the case.
