During the first six months of this year, Skopje International Airport and Ohrid “St. Paul the Apostle” Airport handled a total of 1,955,648 passengers, marking a 28 percent increase compared with the same period last year. At the same time, 13,167 flights were operated, or 7.6 percent more.
In June alone, the two airports together served 374,714 passengers, representing a 15.6 percent increase compared with the same period last year.

According to TAV Macedonia’s six-month statistical data, the busiest destination from Skopje International Airport is Istanbul, including both IGA and Sabiha Gokcen airports, with a 14.2 percent market share. It is followed by Memmingen, Munich with 4.5 percent, Basel Mulhouse with 4.4 percent, Dortmund with 4.1 percent, Zurich with 4 percent and Frankfurt with 3.9 percent.
The five countries with the largest number of direct flights from Skopje are Germany with 28.5 percent of the market share in total passenger traffic, Turkey with 18 percent, Switzerland with 9.3 percent, Italy with 8.2 percent and Sweden with 5.8 percent.
If Skopje International Airport and “St. Paul the Apostle” Airport are analyzed separately, Skopje Airport recorded annual growth of 28.6 percent, while 1,833,010 passengers were transported through it in the first six months of this year. During the same period, 12,260 flights were operated at this airport, representing a 6.5 percent increase compared with the same period last year. On the other hand, Ohrid Airport registered growth of 18.2 percent, with 122,638 passengers transported from January to June. During this period, 907 flights were operated, which is 26 percent more.
