NDI Poll: Growing Perception That Kosovo Is on the Wrong Track

A recent poll by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) reveals that an increasing number of citizens in Kosovo are dissatisfied with the country’s current direction. Data collected from 1,200 respondents between April 15 and May 5, 2026, show that 38 percent believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, while 31 percent think it is on the right track.

A significant share—27 percent of respondents—remained neutral, saying that Kosovo is heading in neither the right nor the wrong direction.

Compared with the previous poll conducted in December 2024, there has been a notable reversal in public opinion. At the time, 37 percent viewed the future with optimism, while only 24 percent expressed concern that the country was heading in the wrong direction.

Historical data from NDI’s chart show that positive sentiment had risen steadily throughout 2023–2024, peaking at 37 percent in December 2024. However, the May 2026 survey indicates a reversal of this trend, with a marked increase in the number of people convinced that the country is veering off the right path.
