Nashville Police Officer Leaves Job After School Office Scandal With Colleague

The Nashville Police Department in the United States has been embroiled in a scandal following the resignation of an officer who was found to have had intimate relations with a colleague in her office at a high school. Students and teachers were in the building when the incidents occurred.

A report by the Office of Professional Accountability says that Lisa Vidrios, 37, admitted to having relations with a colleague who was not her husband at least four times during May 2025. The encounters took place on the premises of Madison High School.

Investigators uncovered the case after gaining access to her mobile phone, where they found videos of the intimate encounters. According to the documentation, the incidents occurred while students were at school, with the voices of staff members audible from the corridor near the office.

Checks showed that the encounters had not taken place only at the school. The officer had also filmed similar incidents in a patrol vehicle on at least two occasions while both officers were on duty. One of the incidents, according to the documents, took place in the parking lot of an abandoned hospital.

The case has sparked widespread reaction also because Vidrios was considered one of the local police force’s most recognisable figures. The former Marine, with nine years of service, had taken part in the department’s promotional campaigns. She and her husband, also a police officer, became the first married couple to graduate from the Nashville Police Academy at the same time in 2022.

At the end of May 2025, when the investigation began, both officers were suspended and their service weapons were confiscated. Vidrios admitted to disciplinary violations related to inappropriate conduct and intimate activity during working hours. She received a suspended 30-day disciplinary measure before resigning.

Her colleague, who had 18 years of experience as an officer, retired in February 2026 due to an injury sustained in the line of duty. He retired before investigators had the opportunity to question him about the case.
