Muqiqi: Rama Has Put Serbia Ahead of Kosovo, Albania Has Lost Credibility

Political analyst and journalist Ismail Muqiqi has said that Kosovo no longer enjoys the same level of support from Albanian diplomacy as it once did. According to him, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama bears primary responsibility for this situation.

Muqiqi said that the approach pursued by the head of the Albanian government has increased Serbia’s importance in Tirana’s relations, while Pristina has been sidelined.

He said that Kosovo has long since lost the support of Albanian diplomacy, stressing that Edi Rama has put Serbia first and overlooked Kosovo.

According to the analyst, Pristina is no longer among Tirana’s policy priorities, a situation he attributes to the Albanian prime minister’s destructive policies.

Muqiqi claimed that Edi Rama has consistently trampled on and neglected Kosovo, adding that his diplomacy has relegated the Kosovo issue to second place in Albania’s foreign policy.

The analyst stressed that Albania should make a stronger commitment to advancing the Kosovo issue in international diplomacy and called for a change in official Tirana’s policy.

He said that Albania has lost its direction and credibility in its relations with Kosovo, although it remains responsible for advancing this issue on the international stage. For this reason, according to Ismail Muqiqi, the time has come for Albania to change its policy toward Kosovo.
