Mishetiq asked how French President Emmanuel Macron could have known the outcome when the verdict had not yet been announced.
“Serbian President Vuçiq met French President Macron on September 10 in Paris, where, according to Vuçiq, he was told by a ‘European and world leader’ [Macron] that Thaçi would receive ‘a harsh sentence.’ How Macron knew the outcome of the trial at least six days in advance, and why Macron spoke to Vuçiq about it, are questions that remain unanswered,” Mishetiq wrote on X.
On September 16, the Specialist Chambers in The Hague sentenced Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi to a total of 81 years in prison.
