Ministry of Education opens call for 85 Roma educational mediators in primary and secondary schools

The Ministry of Education and Science has announced a public call, open until October 7, for the employment of Roma educational mediators. They will support the education of Roma children from socially disadvantaged families, as well as those who have been outside the education system for a prolonged period.

For this school year, 50 mediators are being sought for primary schools and 35 for secondary schools.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the mediators will carry out activities to raise awareness of educational opportunities and access to schools. They will hold regular meetings with community members and school staff to familiarize them with the characteristics and educational needs of vulnerable groups. They will also cooperate continuously with teachers and professional associates to improve student achievement and reduce school dropout rates.

In primary education, mediators will be engaged in the municipalities of Shuto Orizari, Karposh, Gjorche Petrov, Chair, Centar, Kisela Voda, Aerodrom, Gazi Baba, Butel, Tetovo, Gostivar, Kichevo, Debar, Bitola, Prilep, Kumanovo, Shtip, Kochani, Vinica, Delchevo, Berovo, Veles/Gradsko, Kavadarci, Kriva Palanka, Ohrid, Negotino, Ilinden and Radovish.

The 35 mediators for secondary education will be temporarily employed in schools in Skopje, Tetovo, Gostivar, Kichevo, Debar, Bitola, Prilep, Kumanovo, Shtip, Kochani, Vinica, Delchevo, Berovo, Ohrid, Struga, Veles, Negotino and Kavadarci./Telegrafi/
