At a joint press conference with EU Ambassador Michalis Rokas, held on the occasion of the publication of the European Commission’s report on North Macedonia, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said that membership in the European Union remains a strategic goal for the country.
According to him, European integration will bring significant benefits, including professional development, jobs, access to an open market, and greater security. However, Mickoski stressed that the government’s position on constitutional amendments has not changed: the enlargement process should be assessed on the basis of results and work done, not through bilateral disputes.

“We believe in a Europe that respects its own principles, and we will continue working with the same commitment,” Mickoski said.
The prime minister added that the report assesses how closely the country’s policies align with those of the EU. He described this as confirmation of North Macedonia’s strategic direction and its role as a secure and reliable partner of the European Union.
