MEPSO has requested an increase of more than 97% in its service fee as part of the process to set new electricity prices, which are expected to take effect on January 1 next year.
The proposal has been submitted to the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), which will review requests from energy companies and decide on the new tariffs.

However, the biggest impact on the final price paid by households is expected to come from ESM’s offer—specifically, the tariff at which the state-owned company will sell electricity to universal supplier EVN Home.
Currently, ESM sells electricity to EVN Home at a price of €65 per megawatt-hour. If this tariff changes, it could affect the calculation of the final amount billed to consumers.
MEPSO’s request to bring its service fee close to double its current level raises questions about the impact on electricity bills. However, a 97% increase in this fee does not mean household bills will rise by the same amount. The final amount will be determined by the ERC’s decision, the price at which ESM sells electricity, and other regulated costs included in the bill./Telegrafi/
