Melania Trump speaks about her relationship with Barron: He sometimes prefers me to mind my own business

Melania Trump has shared some rare details about her relationship with her son, Barron, noting that the time they spend together has decreased.

During an interview on “The Big Money Show” on “Fox Business,” the U.S. first lady was asked how she organizes time for her family alongside her public and private commitments.

Melania, 56, explained that family gatherings have to be planned, since both she and her husband, President Donald Trump, have busy schedules.

“The time we spend as a family is becoming increasingly limited,” she said, noting that her husband may remain in the Oval Office until late in the evening.

As for 20-year-old Barron, who attends New York University (NYU), Melania said: “He is a young man now, so sometimes he may be happy for me to mind my own business. And that’s okay.”

These comments come amid increased interest in Barron’s private life. According to reports by U.S. media, he has chosen to stay out of the public eye, while his movements are accompanied by tight security measures because of threats against the Trump family.

Melania Trump’s office has previously asked that details about Barron’s private life not be made public, citing recent threats against him.

Barron has rarely been seen in public in recent months. Among his most recent known appearances were the 2026 World Cup final in New Jersey and a UFC event at the White House.

Melania Trump did not characterize her relationship with her son as strained. Instead, she spoke about the difficulty of finding time for the family and the fact that Barron is now an adult.
