Media report that Trump is considering resuming strikes on Iran after the midterm elections

The risk of a new escalation between the United States and Iran could increase in the coming days.

President Donald Trump’s administration is considering resuming military strikes on Iran, possibly on November 4, the day after the U.S. midterm elections, American media report.

The Ms. Now website says Washington has asked its allies in the Persian Gulf countries to be prepared for short, intensive strikes on Iran. The report is based on statements by three senior Arab officials who spoke anonymously.

It is still unclear whether the plan will be carried out. There is no official confirmation that the United States has decided to resume military operations.

Asked about the reports, a White House official said the administration does not comment on possible military plans. The official added that Trump has all options available to ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons.

Another potential obstacle to escalation is the lack of unity within the Republican camp. Trump supporters are increasingly divided over the approach to Iran and the role the United States should play in international conflicts.

For now, fighting between the two countries is on hold, while Washington has not attacked Iran since September 1. Trump had previously said he would not order new military operations during the midterm election period.
