Marta Kos: Albania and Montenegro at the forefront of the EU integration process

European Union Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos expressed optimism about the progress of Albania and Montenegro on the path to membership, ranking them among the most advanced countries in the European integration process.

At the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, held in Poland, Kos highlighted Albania’s progress and said the country is at an advanced stage of negotiations, nearing the closure of chapters, which represents an important step toward meeting EU standards.

According to her, the continued success of the enlargement process depends on the pace of reforms and the commitment of institutions, which remain essential.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that Albania’s European integration is an irreversible process. “As Churchill used to say, one should never waste a good crisis. I believe there are things we should learn from and reflect on, but meanwhile no one can stop Albania’s path toward the European Union,” he said.
