Maqedonci: Slovenia supports Kosovo’s integration into the EU and NATO

Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci met on Monday in Brdo near Kranj with his Slovenian counterpart, Valentin Hajdinjak, as part of a bilateral meeting.

During the talks, according to Maqedonci, Slovenia’s support for Kosovo’s integration into the European Union and NATO was confirmed.

Maqedonci said he had briefed Hajdinjak on the security situation in the region, as well as on the developments and achievements of the Republic of Kosovo in the defense sector. In this context, he mentioned the strengthening of the capacities of the Kosovo Security Force and the goal of developing the defense industry.

The Slovenian minister, meanwhile, expressed his readiness to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of defense. He also supported the continuation of Slovenia’s contribution to Kosovo’s security through its participation in KFOR.

“Deepening and expanding the relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Slovenia in the field of defense is of particular importance,” Maqedonci declared, stressing that Slovenia is a member of NATO and the EU and supports Kosovo.
