Maqedonci: Military education and cooperation with Turkey deepen the Kosovo-Turkey partnership

Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, met with his Turkish counterpart, Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler, as well as with five Kosovo officers who have completed their military studies in Turkey.

During the meeting, Maqedonci emphasized that cooperation in defense and military education is helping consolidate Kosovo-Turkey relations, while also contributing to the professional preparation of personnel for the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).

He congratulated Second Lieutenants Ramadan Rexha, Gjergj Dreni, Altin Salihaj, Elmë Ramadani and Admirim Ismajli, who successfully completed the five-year education program.

According to the minister, the program consisted of one year of preparation in the Turkish language and four years dedicated to military studies.

“I had the pleasure of meeting the cadets from Kosovo who successfully completed their education at this prestigious academy,” Maqedonci wrote.

The minister said that, in addition to strengthening the KSF’s capabilities and modernizing the force, the Ministry of Defense considers the education, training and professional advancement of its personnel a priority.

“Investing in qualified military personnel is an investment in the future of the KSF and in building a modern, professional force that is interoperable with the armed forces of partner countries,” he declared.

Maqedonci stressed that the completion of Kosovo officers’ education at the military academies of partner countries also serves to bring the armed forces closer together and increase cooperation between them.

He thanked Turkey for its continued support in the education and professional development of KSF personnel.

In closing, the minister wished the newly graduated officers success in the engagements and responsibilities they will undertake in the future, in service of the KSF and the Republic of Kosovo.
