Man arrested in London for threatening Nigel Farage: “I’ll shoot you in the head if you win”

A man has been arrested in the British capital on suspicion of threatening the life of Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. His message on social media platforms was clear and violent: “I’ll shoot you in the head if you win”, reports The Telegraph newspaper.

According to media sources, the suspect’s online profile described him as a terrorist.

This police action comes shortly after the tragic death of former Reform UK MP Ann Widdecombe. Hours before the arrest was made public, the party’s spokesman for home affairs, Zia Yusuf, had expressed concern over the rise in threats to the safety of political figures. He pledged that a future Reform UK administration would provide full protection for both active and former lawmakers.

Following the murder of Widdecombe at her home last week, Reform UK, the Labour Party, and representatives of other political groups have joined calls for stricter security measures for politicians.

Farage himself has spoken out, stressing that threats against politicians, whether digital or physical, are not being taken seriously enough by the responsible institutions.

This case, according to the newspaper, marks the first time that an alert from parliamentary structures about a serious threat against Farage has resulted in the detention of a suspect.
