Macedonia Records 39% Increase in Building Permits in June

The State Statistical Office announced that 296 building permits were approved in June this year, 39.0% more than in the same month last year.

The estimated value of the projects covered by these permits amounts to 6 billion 363 million 610 thousand denars. Compared with June last year, this figure increased by 31.0%. The Polog region had the highest number of permits issued, with a total of 70.

Of the 296 permits approved, 200, or 67.6%, were for buildings. A total of 26 permits, or 8.8%, were issued for civil engineering projects, while another 70, or 23.6%, concerned reconstruction projects.

Individuals were listed as investors in 218 cases, accounting for 73.6% of the total, while business entities were investors in 78 cases, or 26.4%.

During the reporting period, construction was planned for 754 dwellings with a total usable floor area of 64,266 square metres.
