Lushaku-Sadriu Calls on LVV: Let Us Constitute the Assembly Tonight

Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu, an LDK MP, has publicly called on the Vetëvendosje Movement to continue the constitutive session today.

Speaking from the Assembly courtyard, she said MPs have a duty to constitute the 11th legislature and make the country’s institutions functional within the deadlines set by the Constitution.

Lushaku-Sadriu said she had come there to publicly ask the largest party in the Kosovo Assembly to convene the session, or resume it, so that the Assembly could be constituted tonight and within the constitutional deadlines.

According to her, it is regrettable that the country’s highest legislative institution has been brought to a situation in which its constitutionality and functionality are being called into question, while MPs are being prevented from carrying out the work for which they received the legitimacy to represent citizens in the Republic’s highest institution.

She described the possibility that the Kosovo Assembly may not be constituted tonight as unacceptable, stressing that LDK MPs are there and awaiting an invitation to the session. Lushaku-Sadriu added that they are ready to complete the constitution of the Assembly and begin making the institutions functional as soon as the resumption of the session is called. Regardless of political agreements, she said MPs have an obligation to provide Kosovo with institutions.
