Kurti receives congratulatory letter from German Chancellor Merz

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced that he had received a congratulatory letter yesterday from the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz, on the formation of the government and the start of his new term in office.

In his message, Chancellor Merz congratulated Kurti on his re-election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and said that the country had now emerged from a prolonged period of political uncertainty, which had imposed considerable costs.

“I warmly congratulate you on your re-election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo. Kosovo has left behind months of political uncertainty, which has imposed high costs on the country.

The confirmation of your election offers an opportunity to build bridges beyond the partisan prism, resolve outstanding institutional issues and advance reforms,” Chancellor Merz wrote.

In addition to wishing him further success during his new term in government, Merz stressed that Germany would continue to strongly support Kosovo, underscoring its special friendship with the people of Kosovo.
