Kurti proposes a two-item session to elect the president

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called on Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Bedri Hamza to publicly declare that PDK parliamentary group members will attend and vote in the presidential election.

Under Kurti’s proposal, the Assembly would convene for a session with two items on the agenda. First, the draft law on the Specialist Chambers would be put to a vote, followed by the vote to elect the president.

Kurti has asked Hamza to speak publicly immediately after him and pledge that all PDK members of parliament will take part in the vote to elect the president.

He explained that the draft law on the Specialist Chambers must be voted on before the presidential matter, stressing that their vote in favor of the draft law at second reading is guaranteed.

“We will vote on the draft law on the Specialist Chambers beforehand. In other words, not afterward, but before. One session with two items: the first item, the second reading of the draft law on the Specialist Chambers, has our vote. And then the vote for president,” Kurti said.

As part of the proposal, the acting prime minister also mentioned Justina Shiroka-Pula, who is president of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts and a former PDK minister in the Thaçi I government.
