Kurti said that communication with London is close and continuous. He noted that his meeting with Lord Wood of Anfield followed talks held over the past two months with the Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Dame Karen Pierce: one at the United Nations General Assembly in New York and the other by telephone from Prishtina.
According to the prime minister, the United Kingdom has been a key friend and ally at every stage of Kosovo’s development, from liberation and independence to today’s democracy. He added that the country remains one of the strongest supporters of the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Kosovo.
Kurti stressed that, with the institutions now fully functional, the Government of Kosovo is focusing on reforms and development. This, he said, creates more opportunities for cooperation with the United Kingdom in areas including defence and the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games.
