Following the suspension of the Assembly’s constitutive session, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the political parties should hold talks to reach an agreement on the election of the new president.

According to Kurti, any attempt to constitute the Assembly before resolving the issue of the president would pave the way for the dissolution of the institution.
He stressed that dialogue between the political forces is the only path toward the full consolidation of the institutions, referring to the will expressed by citizens in the June 7 elections.
Kurti said that opening political negotiations to reach an agreement is the proper solution and the only way to complete the process of constituting the institutions, in accordance with the order and outcome of the free and democratic elections.
He said that Vetëvendosje has been asking the political parties to begin discussions since the election results were published.
