Kosovo’s draft budget for 2027 is expected to be approved by the government on Monday, with capital investments set to exceed 1 billion euros for the first time.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced this yesterday at the 64th meeting of Vetëvendosje’s General Council.

According to Kurti, the planned funds will be used to build roads, railways and a dam. After the government vote, the draft budget will be forwarded to the Assembly of Kosovo.
At the same meeting, Kurti said Kosovo’s next steps toward European integration are to obtain candidate country status and begin negotiations.
He also announced the start of internal elections in Vetëvendosje, which will focus on its women’s and youth structures. Before the meeting, Speaker of the Assembly Albulena Haxhiu said there was no reason for Vetëvendosje to change its leader.
The draft budget is expected to be approved in a week when the European Commission will publish its annual report on Kosovo.
