Among their demands is an amendment to the Criminal Code to address femicide and other forms of violence against women. They are also calling for the creation of a Femicide Watch mechanism, which would analyze cases and identify institutional shortcomings.
The network is also calling for sustainable funding for shelters, emergency hotlines, and specialized services supporting victims.
Another demand concerns the adoption and implementation of secondary legislation to enable the full operation of services that provide protection and support for abused women.
According to the Kosovo Women’s Network, expressing condolences after tragedies is not enough. Preventing femicide requires justice, effective measures, and accountability from institutions.
