Kosovo dairy farmers ask the FVA to publish the results for “Vita”, warn of a protest in Pristina

The Association of Kosovo Dairy Farmers has reacted after the press conference held by the Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) regarding the situation created at the “Vita” dairy plant in Istog, assessing that no new information was provided in this public appearance. According to them, farmers are still waiting for the resumption of fresh milk collection.

The association has called on the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Veterinary Agency to publicly release the results of the samples taken from the “Vita” dairy plant during April and May.

“Why all this hesitation? We repeat, otherwise the failure to collect milk will be followed by an unprecedented protest in Pristina.

Public appeal: Publish the results for the samples from April and May 2026 in order to avoid an unpleasant situation for everyone,” the Association of Kosovo Dairy Farmers wrote on Facebook.

Earlier in the day, the Commission for Monitoring and Supervising the Work of Inspectors at the Food and Veterinary Agency had found that the “Vita” milk factory had violated the decision of acting Minister of Agriculture Armend Muja from May 10, 2026. This decision prohibits the use of powdered milk, palm oil, whey and other ingredients in milk processing factories.

However, the FVA has announced that the final conclusions will be published only after the laboratory analyses are completed.

At the press conference, the head of the Commission for Monitoring and Supervising the Work of Inspectors, and at the same time the head of the Prizren Regional Office, Durak Zyraku, stated that the commission’s finding is based on the findings of the inspectors who were on the ground.
