Kosovo and Germany Deepen Climate and Energy Alliance

A new implementation agreement was signed between Kosovo and Germany, marking a new stage in their partnership for climate action and energy sector transformation.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Climate Attaché at the German Embassy in Pristina, officials from the Ministry of Economy, representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, as well as experts from GIZ Kosovo, the German diplomatic mission announced.

The new document transforms the broad Climate and Energy Partnership between the two countries into a concrete action plan, aiming to improve policy dialogue, increase inter-institutional coordination, and strengthen local capacities. At the same time, it supports Kosovo’s climate diplomacy, boosts its profile on the global stage, and encourages broader citizen participation in environmental protection and energy transition initiatives.

According to the German Embassy, this agreement represents another milestone in the long-term cooperation between the two states and demonstrates the shared commitment to Kosovo’s sustainable development, as well as to accelerating its path toward European integration.
