Korçë: 66-Year-Old Found Dead in Vehicle Engulfed in Flames, Suspected of Setting Himself on Fire

A 66-year-old man in Korçë, identified as Irakli Çinoku, was found dead in a vehicle that had been engulfed in flames. The incident reportedly occurred at around 08:40 on Tuesday in the city’s No. 10 neighborhood.

According to police, the man is suspected of setting himself on fire inside the vehicle. Police said he was found in the front passenger seat.

An investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is at the scene and is continuing its work to fully establish the circumstances and cause of the incident.

Police statement:

At around 08:40, in the No. 10 neighborhood of Korçë, a Mercedes-Benz vehicle was engulfed in flames.

Police and fire crews immediately went to the scene, where they found Irakli Çinoku, approximately 66 years old, showing no signs of life inside the vehicle in the front passenger seat.

Based on preliminary findings and information, it is suspected that the man may have set himself on fire inside the vehicle.
