Haddad arrived at the meeting accompanied by the French ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guerot. Konjufca and Haddad were scheduled to hold a joint press conference after the talks.
Speaking to reporters on 27.07.2026, at 10:15, Konjufca said the French minister’s visit to Kosovo confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries, as well as their shared commitment to a stronger, more united and more secure Europe.
According to him, since the declaration of independence, France has been and continues to be one of Kosovo’s main partners, as well as a pillar of the country’s European integration project. He told Minister Haddad that Kosovo and France share the same vision for Europe’s future.
Konjufca announced that four important agreements and a letter of intent were signed during the visit. The documents were signed together with Finance Minister Hekuran Murati, and he said they would take bilateral cooperation between Kosovo and France into an entirely new dimension.
The meeting addressed the strengthening of bilateral relations, economic cooperation, security-related issues and regional developments. Konjufca also expressed gratitude for France’s continued support for Kosovo, including assistance with organizing the Mediterranean Games.
Referring to the integration process, the acting minister emphasized that Kosovo’s strategic goal remains membership in the European Union. He said that, in the face of major security challenges in Europe, the credibility of the European project depends on faster, fairer and merit-based enlargement.
Konjufca also spoke about the security situation in the region, condemning rhetoric that justifies or relativizes the crimes of the 1990s, as he said Serbia is doing. According to him, such an approach constitutes a provocation, is unacceptable and runs counter to the values of civilization, peace and democracy, and therefore has no place in democratic Europe.
In closing, he reiterated Kosovo’s readiness to support France in its firefighting efforts. Konjufca recalled the position expressed by acting President Albulena Haxhiu that the country is prepared to provide assistance using the capacities at its disposal.
