Koci seeks explanations from KLA leaders’ defense teams over developments in The Hague

Lawyer Arianit Koci has called on the legal representatives of the KLA leaders to speak publicly and explain what happened during the trial proceedings at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

In a Facebook post, Koci asked how these sentences came about, where the problem lay, and why no indication had been given earlier that the proceedings could have such an outcome.

He stressed that political interpretations belong to domestic affairs, while the defense teams are expected to provide a professional, direct, and specific explanation.

According to Koci, the lawyers have a duty to provide this clarification to the public, as they defended Kosovo’s highest-ranking state officials, beginning with the country’s former president.

He also recalled that around €40 million has so far been allocated from Kosovo’s budget for the legal defense of all those accused and suspected by The Hague, while total support for these four alone has reached around €28.5 million.
