Klevis Balliu: Poor governance is putting the holding of the NATO Summit in Tirana at risk

Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu reacted on social media after reports that the NATO Summit may not take place in Tirana.

According to him, this risk is directly linked to the way the country is being governed by Edi Rama.

In his reaction, Balliu says: “Edi Rama is leading Albania toward a great disgrace before our allies. Putting the NATO Summit in Tirana at risk is a direct consequence of his governance.”

He further emphasizes that for a long time he has raised the alarm that Albania is not fulfilling its obligations to NATO, as the funds that should have been used for defense, according to him, are being wasted through corruption.

Balliu adds that when the money of Albanians is abused, investments for the army and national security are lacking.

Continuing his reaction, the Democratic Party MP recalls that it was the Democratic Party that brought Albania into NATO and fulfilled the obligations toward the Alliance.

According to Balliu, after years of Edi Rama’s governance, Albania now risks losing the trust of Euro-Atlantic allies.
