KFOR: Movement of Serbian military convoy near the border was a routine activity

KFOR has clarified that the Serbian army’s motorized convoy, which was seen near the border with Kosovo two days ago, was conducting a routine activity within Serbian territory. According to the mission, the movement posed no threat to regional security or stability.

The NATO mission in Kosovo also said that the Serbian Armed Forces had notified it in advance of a planned exercise taking place 30 to 40 kilometers from the border.

“We can confirm that KFOR was informed by the Serbian Armed Forces that they would conduct a previously planned exercise (Povednik ’26) in the vicinity of the Administrative Boundary Line (30/40 km). This is a routine activity conducted within Serbian territory and does not pose a threat to security or stability in the region. The NATO-led KFOR mission continues to closely monitor the situation along the Administrative Boundary Line and throughout Kosovo through patrols and other means, and is in regular communication with institutions in Kosovo, security organizations in Kosovo and the Serbian Armed Forces,” KFOR said in its response to KP.

Footage of the Serbian motorized convoy near the village of Ribariq, close to the border with Kosovo, was shared by the media and on social networks on September 14, 2026. It was published just days before the decision by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
