Kavajë, 47-year-old arrested with Kalashnikov in car while on his way to kill those who assaulted his nephew

Kavajë/Police prevented a serious criminal incident through timely intervention and information obtained through operational channels.

47-year-old M. N., a resident of Kavajë, was arrested in flagrante delicto while traveling to a hotel in the Mali i Robit area of Golem, with the intention of killing the people who had assaulted his nephew, 18-year-old G. N.

During a search of the vehicle he was driving, an automatic Kalashnikov firearm, 3 magazines and 84 rounds of ammunition were found in a backpack.

The incident began after a conflict at a hotel, where citizens F. H., A. F., E. D. and M. M. allegedly assaulted 18-year-old G. N., who worked as a waiter at the hotel’s restaurant. The alleged cause was the failure to pay him for work performed. The young man is at Kavajë Hospital under medical care.

Officers from the Kavajë Police Commissariat and the Golem Police Station immediately went to the hotel after being notified of the conflict, preventing the situation from escalating.

While police were carrying out the initial investigative actions, they received information that the 18-year-old’s uncle, 47-year-old M. N., had set off armed toward the hotel to kill the people who had assaulted his nephew.

Police stopped the 47-year-old’s vehicle near the hotel, and during the search they seized the firearm, 3 magazines and 84 rounds of ammunition.

The investigation also revealed that the place where the conflict had occurred had been cleaned. In addition, the DVR for the security cameras had been removed and the relevant cables had been cut.

Following the initial investigative actions, citizens F. H., 28, and E. D., 20, both residents of Kavajë, were arrested in flagrante delicto. A wanted notice was issued for A. F., 36, while M. M., 36, a resident of Kavajë, was prosecuted while remaining at liberty.

M. N., 47, a resident of Kavajë, was also taken into custody.

Under the direction of the Prosecution Office, work is continuing to fully document the incident in accordance with the law.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office for further action.
