Katy Perry has strongly criticized the White House after her hit song “Firework” was used without her approval in a video posted on TikTok that featured footage of U.S. military operations.

In a post on X, the artist said the unauthorized use of the hit had left her “deeply shocked and angry.”

“I did not approve this, I was not asked for permission, and I absolutely do not tolerate it,” Perry wrote.

The singer emphasized that “Firework,” released in 2010, was created as an anthem conveying hope, healing, and inner strength to people going through difficult times.

“Using a message of self-worth and encouragement as a backdrop for destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything this song stands for,” she said.

Concluding her response, Perry added: “My music was created to bring people together, not to celebrate war.”

According to TMZ, the material shared on TikTok by the White House account included footage of U.S. military operations. The video also showed an attack on an unidentified facility, followed by explosions, while providing no context for the incident.
