Justice reform/Rama: Without me and the SP, the US and EU would have done absolutely nothing, as they did with previous governments and neighboring countries

Prime Minister Edi Rama has spoken about justice reform and the independence of justice institutions, attributing all the credit to himself and the Socialist Party.

The prime minister said international support had been important for justice reform, but, as he put it, “without the SP, they would have done absolutely nothing.”

“The independence of justice did not fall from the sky; it was brought neither by time, nor by America, nor by Europe. They helped a great deal, in fact, but without me and the SP they would have done the same thing they did with previous governments until the day we stepped into that sea on foot, or that they are doing with some other governments around the region,” Rama declared.

The head of government also criticized the Democratic Party and his political opponents, saying that they view SPAK as a political instrument against the government.

“There is no doubt that the independence of justice was not brought by the DP, the crows, ravens and frustrated failures who today shout ‘corruption, corruption’ and see SPAK as the fatal weapon that has fallen from the sky against me, even though I have defeated them in every election and defeat them in these slanderous battles in the political and media arena whenever they think they are cornered and can dig a pit for me,” Rama said.
