Jorida Tabaku: The SHISH affair compromised national security; I submitted 15 files to SPAK

Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku criticized the government over the way it has handled developments at SHISH and the executive’s decisions. During an interview on News24’s “First Minute” program, hosted by Ola Bruko, she said the opposition had previously warned about problems in the security institutions.

According to Tabaku, the situation is not limited to an institutional issue, but affects national security and Albania’s relations with NATO. She also announced that she had submitted 15 files to SPAK.

Tabaku: The deputy prime minister has been involved in the biggest scandal, which is being protected politically. What happened at SHISH had been previously warned about through opposition allegations made public in the media and through other channels. We know what happened with the incinerators. NATO has been put at risk, the state has collapsed and national security has been compromised. Several scandals have emerged, including the SHISH scandal and the deputy prime minister’s case. What happened at SHISH must be treated seriously.

She described the situation as the result of the activities of a criminal group that, according to her, has taken Albania’s future hostage. Tabaku warned that this poses a risk to the country’s future climate and reiterated that she had sent 15 files to SPAK.
