Joe Wilson: Snezhana Paunović’s Statements Make Belgrade Unsuitable for 2027 OSCE Summit

A recent statement by Serbian minister Snezhana Paunović, who claimed she would have carried out ethnic cleansing in Kosovo if she had held Slobodan Milošević’s post in 1999, has been sharply condemned by U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson, who described it as “disgusting.”

According to the American lawmaker, these comments from a high-ranking official clearly show that Serbia’s offer to host the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in 2027 should not be considered.

Wilson underlined that the fundamental mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is to build bridges of understanding on the continent, not to incite interethnic divisions.

Paunović’s remarks on ethnic cleansing in Kosovo were made during an interview with the Serbian newspaper Kurir, sparking a wave of outrage.
