Jealousy Leads to Tragedy in Italy: 43-Year-Old Mistakes Motorcyclist for Ex-Girlfriend’s Partner and Fatally Rams Him

A 36-year-old man was tragically killed in Somma Lombardo, in the Italian province of Varese, after allegedly being deliberately struck by a car driven by a 43-year-old man who mistook him for his ex-girlfriend’s new partner.

The victim had no relationship with the 39-year-old woman. He had noticed that she appeared distressed and unsure of the way, so he stopped simply to help her.

According to the investigation, the woman had agreed to meet her former partner one last time to return some personal belongings. Their relationship had ended less than a month earlier.

While riding her motorcycle toward the La Maddalena area and following directions on her mobile phone, the 39-year-old woman got lost. She stopped by the roadside, where the 36-year-old man offered to accompany her to the meeting place.

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old man, who was waiting for her, got into his car and went out to look for her. When he saw his ex-girlfriend on a motorcycle with the 36-year-old man, he allegedly reacted out of jealousy and deliberately rammed the motorcycle with his vehicle.

The collision killed the 36-year-old man at the scene. Carabinieri officers and emergency crews immediately arrived, but their efforts failed to save the victim.

Investigators ruled out the possibility of a traffic accident. Following the investigation, the 43-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder.
